Summer Internship

Position Overview
The Canal Winchester Chamber is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated part-time intern to join our team for Summer 2026. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in operations, member relations, marketing and event planning in a welcoming, community-focused environment.

Position Details
This position is 20 hours per week for 10 weeks during Summer 2026. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 2:00pm, though occasionally, you will be needed to support Chamber events on evenings/weekends. The pay rate is $15 per hour. As a part-time internship, this position does not include benefits.

Key Responsibilities
Our intern will assist Chamber staff with a variety of operational and community-facing tasks, including:

  • Assist with updating membership records, including contacting current members by phone to verify and update contact information
  • Interact with Chamber members in person, including delivery of the Community Resource Guide to member businesses
  • Provide support before, during and after Chamber events, which may include setup, registration and cleanup
  • Assist with light physical tasks, such as organizing and cleaning storage areas
  • Assist the marketing coordinator with planning and creating social media content
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed to support daily Chamber operations.

Qualifications

  • Open to high school and college students ages 16 and up; no specific field of study required, though an interest in business, communications, marketing, event planning, or a related area is a plus
  • Kind and personable with good soft skills; you do not need to be an extrovert, but you should enjoy working with people
  • Willing to learn and complete a variety of tasks with a positive attitude
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Comfortable with basic computer skills, such as email and data entry
  • Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends for events.
